Learners will learn how to use a variety of equipment and increase their knowledge of grooming styles. Learners will gain knowledge of canine first aid and have an understanding of the health and wellbeing of different breeds of dog.
Learners will have an opportunity to gain competence in the dog grooming workplace. Communicating with dog owners is an essential skill that is covered in this qualification.

The Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming is a flexible and thorough qualification that will prepare learners to carry out practical grooming and care of dogs. Learners will gain knowledge of potential health issues for dogs and skills in canine first aid.
In order to deliver this qualification, centres must meet the requirements to deliver the qualification (which can be found in the Qualification Specification) and complete the Qualification Approval Application Form (QAF).
