The Open College Network West Midlands Level 1 Award in Forest School Ethos and Principles provides learners with an introduction to the Forest School ethos and learning in the outdoors. It includes methods of identifying woodland species and how play can assist in Forest School activities.
The Open College Network West Midlands Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants provides learners with the skills required to support Forest School Leaders when supporting Forest School programmes.
Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Award in Forest Kindergarten: Local Nature Play Ref. 603/7549/8
The qualification is for people who understand the importance of play and the outdoors for children's health and wellbeing and capacity to learn. Furthermore, giving children opportunities to experience nature is a prerequisite for care for nature.
The Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to support individuals in Forest School programmes and outdoor learning.
In order to deliver this qualification, centres must meet the requirements to deliver the qualification (which can be found in the Qualification Specification) and complete the Qualification Approval Application Form (QAF).
