About this subject area
The Level 2 Award in Feline Care and Behaviour has been developed with the support of Animal Jobs Direct to provide a basic qualification into working with domestic cats.
This qualification covers the Principles of Feline Care and the Feline Care, Welfare and Behaviour. This 9 credit Award will give learners basic knowledge to be able to carry out basic healthcare checks and recognise common health problems as well as understand the behavioural signs and signals demonstrated by domestic felines.
The Level 3 Award and Diploma in Feline Care, Behaviour and Welfare have been developed with the support of Animal Jobs Direct to give learners information about feline health, care, behaviour and welfare.
These qualifications are suitable for meeting the higher standard for licensing catteries following the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018.
Learners will develop a broad range of knowledge of feline care including feline behaviour and psychology, feline nutrition, legislation for feline care and evolutionary development of felines. These qualifications enable learners to progress to employment in organisations providing feline care or progress to higher studies in feline care, animal welfare and animal science. These two qualifications provide a seamless progression pathway into feline care.
