Specialist Deafblind Assessors

This qualification is for any social care and health professionals involved in carrying out specialist deafblind assessments as part of their role. This training is written to ensure that service provides meet the minimum required standard of the Care Act 2014; that any person carrying out assessments for people who are deafblind must be appropriately trained to Level 3 or above. 

This qualification has been designed to enable learners to, but not limited to:

  • be able to identify the causes of deafblindness
  • demonstrate various methods of communication to be used by deafblind people
  • understand the support systems available including technology.

The minimum age for access to this qualification is 16 years.
