Open College Network West Midlands Centres: Lifetime learning for all

Organic Farming

  • Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma in Biodynamic Ecology - 603/7572/3

This two year, full time qualification has been developed to enable learners to study the specific methods of biodynamic agriculture, a system of sustainable animal husbandry and horticultural crop production used on many farms and small holdings.

Biodynamic Ecology is the forerunner of Organic farming but the method also has metaphysical and spiritual roots.

The qualification enables learners to explore the therapeutic benefits of working with the land for children and adults and to demonstrate leadership in the management of animals or horticultural crops.

Learners must be 18 years or over and have access to a placement on a biodynamic farm or small holding.

In order to deliver a qualification, centres must meet the requirements to deliver the qualification (which can be found in the Qualification Guide) and complete the Qualification Approval Form (QAF).
