Open College Network West Midlands is now working in partnership with Open Awards to offer the new, Reformed Functional Skills qualifications.

We are able to offer the following subjects from Entry 1 through to Level 2:

  • Maths
  • English
  • ICT
On-line Training
The training that centres will undertake is:
  • Assessing Speaking, Listening and Communicating
  • Effective Invigilation
  • Entry Level Functional Skills Adaptation of Assessments
Each should take no more than one hour and is online.

Approval Process
If you want to deliver the new Reformed Functional Skills, you will need to complete the separate Functional Skills Qualification Approval form, also on the downloads section at the bottom of this page, and staff will need to undergo specific training.

We will risk rate this as per our qualification approval. If a visit is required we will schedule this in with the centre.

Nominated people will then be sent a login to our training site so they can complete the training.

Following completion of training and a satisfactory approval report, centres are ready to deliver.
