About this qualification

This qualification is designed to support learners who are returning to study, to help them to develop the study and learning skills required to progress onto Level 3 courses in areas related to Health.

Objectives of the qualification

By achieving the Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Further Study in Health, learners are demonstrating that they are able to study for a sustained period at an appropriate level and it is anticipated that this will optimise achievement on a course to which the learners may progress.

Rules of combination

To be awarded the Open College Network West Midlands Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Further Study in Health, learners must achieve:

  •  25 credits
  • A minimum of 15 credits must be achieved from Mandatory Group M
  • The remaining 10 credits may be achieved from any combination of units in optional groups A and B
