Rules and Regulations on teacher involvement in exam development: This consultation seeks views on the proposed conditions and guidance on teacher involvement in the development of confidential assessment materials for qualifications in England.  This consultation remains open for responses until 14:00 on 08.06.2018.

The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust launches resources designed to support mental health in construction industry training
These materials, produced and published by the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, have been designed to highlight the importance of talking about and dealing with mental health issues to learners involved in construction industry training courses.  The resources have been written in response to evidence that suggests suicide rates are higher among construction workers than any other UK industry sector.  Download the materials here

Ofsted Inspectors Praise Derby College for "Outstanding" Residential Provision
On 27 April, FE Newsweek published an article written by Derby College to highlight their “Outstanding” rating from Ofqual for residential provision.

More than 1000 learners who failed their courses in 2017 are now being told they have passed
On 15 March 2018, Ofqual wrote to Awarding Organisations about making changes to the structure of their new Applied General or Technical level qualifications to provide a “safety net” for some learners who “narrowly failed” over the summer of 2017.  The full text of the letter is here and a report from Schools Week covering this item can be found here
