What does Forest School and a guinea pig have in common?

Everything!

A guinea pig does not originate from anywhere called Guinea (nor is it related to old currency) and it is not a pig!

Forest School qualifications do not need a forest, nor do they need to be delivered in a school. Names and titles can be deceiving.

You do not need a forest to deliver our suite of qualifications, as long as you have access to some outdoor space, even if it is small, you can deliver Forest School to your learners.

Our suite of Forest School qualifications provides the knowledge, understanding and skills needed for learners to take part in Forest School activities and includes:

Qualifications include:

These qualifications:

  • Provide a comprehensive platform of progression to higher levels of study in this subject area
  • Ensure learners understand the principles and ethos of Forest School learning
  • Enable learners to gain skills to support Forest School leaders and Forest School programmes
  • Develop leadership, practical and teaching skills to become an effective Forest
  • School Leader. The Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Leaders will also prepare learners for employment as a Forest School Leader.
  • Come with free resources.

"Open College Network has supported the development of our very successful Forest School training programme and woodlands across Sussex have become places for play and exploration once again!".
