Wellbeing in the Woods

Thursday, 26 April 2018
On the 24th April we held our third Forest Schools Taster Event, hosted by our recognised centre, Where the Fruit is at 30pm at Nicholson’s Garden Design, Bicester.

Delegates who attended this free event were from a range of organisations and were there to learn about the benefits of becoming a Forest School Leader for their educational establishment. The morning started with a classroom-based talk from Sarah Lawful who is Director and Forest School Trainer for the organisation, she explained the origins of Forest Schools and its importance in today’s society. The group then moved outside to participate in typical practical activities involved in a Forest School programme, including how to make a fire, knifework and setting up camp.
This was an informative, fun and brilliantly put together event where by all participants left with new knowledge on Forest Schools.

A huge thank you to Sarah, who also supplied a tasty lunch of homemade soup, crusty bread and delicious cake.  For more information on Where the Fruit is and their training, please visit their website:
