Outstanding students celebrated and presented awards in Open College Network West Midlands’ Celebration Event
Open College Network West Midlands celebrated the outstanding achievements of learners studying qualifications and units, in an awards ceremony which took place on Thursday, June 17.
The Learner Celebration Event was held online by the national Awarding Organisation and celebrated the success and achievements of learners from Special Schools/Foundation Learning/Alternative Education providers delivering Open College Network West Midlands units and/or qualifications across England and Wales.
Open College Network West Midlands is an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation, authorised to develop and award nationally recognised qualifications and Customised Accreditation units, to meet the needs of their learners.
These qualifications can offer life-changing opportunities to a wide range of learners who may have had to overcome significant barriers to study or had an inspirational learning journey.
Learners awarded for Outstanding Commitment to Study have excelled in their academic study and shown evidence of extra effort above and beyond that which would normally be required of a learner.
Up to 10 extraordinary individuals were recognised at the event this year and awarded Love2Shop vouchers of £25 from Open College Network West Midlands.
Stephanie Reeves, Business Development Manager at Open College Network West Midlands, said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to host this event today.
“Meeting the wonderful teachers and the exceptional award winners really makes me proud to work for an organisation that offers flexible, appropriate, regulated qualifications that students can gain so much from.
“Every single award winner was so deserving and we were delighted to recognise their achievements.”
Learners were recognised and awarded from the following Centre’s:
- Brooke School
- Hallmoor School
- Heart of Worcestershire College
- Riverbank Academy
- Ruskin Mill
- United Response
- The Westminster School
Guests at the event, heard first-hand from nominating tutors, about the exceptional achievements of their learners and how the qualifications and units have helped to transform their lives.
