Open College Network West Midlands reveals new plans for growth

Open College Network West Midlands has today announced some significant news which will increase the range of qualifications and ensure an even better experience for everyone involved in the delivery of our qualifications.

Following five consecutive years of growth, we are taking a further step forward to maximise and enhance the impact we have on learners. Last year, Open College Network West Midlands established an ambitious strategic plan and can now share further details of how it intends to deliver this plan.

A larger, stronger organisation

Open College Network West Midlands is delighted to announce its plans to merge with the AIM Group who enjoy an excellent reputation built on high quality qualifications and services. They are based in the East Midlands and have grown significantly in recent years. They boast a wide range of regulated qualifications and have over 35 years’ experience with Access to Higher Education Diplomas.

Our promise to you

Over the coming weeks and months, Open College Network West Midlands will share further details but offer reassurances that there will be no adverse effect on any learners as a result of this merger. Furthermore, we will ensure that there is no detrimental effect to any centre, only benefits.

Following the merger, centres will have access to everything they currently do in addition to everything that the AIM Group delivers. The merged organisation will have a portfolio of qualifications that will double in size and the new organisation will become one of the largest Access Validating Agencies in the country.

We will continue to offer and grow our diverse qualification provision, and build on the international work of both organisations to strengthen our overseas offer and presence.

Next steps

The Boards of Open College Network West Midlands and the AIM Group have formed a joint working party and we will keep everyone fully informed about progress.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments. We reiterate, that this is a merger which will create new opportunities and that there will be no adverse effect on our centres or learners.

Open College Network West Midlands looks forward to continuing our working relationship with all our colleagues and welcoming new ones.
