Latest update on our regulated qualifications - March/April 2022

Update from the Qualifications and Assessment Development Team

Quality Team and Centre Assessment Standards Scrutiny (CASS) update.

We have completed our first phase of centre monitoring for centres with active registrations who offer high priority qualifications, as part of our new CASS strategy. Our second round of centre monitoring sampling for May 2022 is nearly upon us, and centres who are in scope for monitoring will be informed via their EQA mid to late April 2022 of the necessary requirements for this sampling to take place.

Centres have been contacted to complete a Self-Assessment form for which the deadline for final submission is Thursday 31st March 2022. Centres who have not submitted by this date will be contacted by the Quality team.

Additional enhanced sampling will be requested for a proportion of our existing centres where the focus is reviewing Centre policies and procedures. Again, centres will be notified through an automated email if they are required to provide and upload these.

Please do not upload all your policies and procedures unless you have been requested to do so.

Qualifications and Assessment Development

We are in the process of amending and withdrawing our Construction Qualifications as a result of a change to industry requirements. Centres who deliver our Construction Qualifications have already been contacted via email with initial information. Further guidance and support will be offered later this month and again in April.

If you feel you need some advice or support on the development of a customised course, regulated qualification and/or QEL course that we don’t currently offer, please get in touch with our Business Support team via who will be happy to discuss this with you further.

General update:

Are your learner records up to date?
Did any learners leave or withdraw without achieving their qualification or units? Please withdraw them if they have.

Are all the contact details we hold for your provider up to date?
We have a list of key contacts including: administration, quality assurance, curriculum development, and finance – it is essential that we have the correct named person for each of these roles so we can channel communication to the right person and offer the right support at the right time. This can be completed by your Centre Administrator within Contact Manager on Quartz.

Updated Policies
Since September 2021 we have updated many of our Policies. If you have not done so already, please familiarise yourself with these and ensure your own policies reflect any changes. All our Policies and Procedures can be found here.
