Update from the Qualifications and Assessment Development Team


Quality Team and Centre Assessment Standards Scrutiny (CASS) update

In August 2021 we held a series of online briefings with our centres that outlined our Quality Assurance Process for the 2021/2022 academic year. More details about our approach to monitoring can be found in our Centre Handbook.



At the end of January 2022, we held online briefings for centres to explain the new Self-Assessment process. Centres who have registered learners this academic year or during the 2021/22 academic year are required to complete this process.


External Quality Assurer (EQA) Recruitment

Centres are reminded that the deadline for submission is 31st March 2022.

We are still recruiting professionals who wish to become EQAs, especially within the following areas:

  • Construction
  • Forest schools
  • Dog Grooming
  • Medical technologies
  • Chaplaincy
  • Retrofit

Qualifications and Assessment Development

Within our RQF provision we have had the following new qualifications developed which are available for centre registrations:

If you feel you need some advice or support on the development of a Customised Course, regulated qualification and/or QEL course that we don’t currently offer, please get in touch with our Business Support team via who will be happy to discuss this with you further.


General update:

Are your learner records up to date?
Did any learners leave or withdraw without achieving their qualification or units? Please withdraw them if they have.


Are all the contact details we hold for your provider up to date?
We have a list of key contacts including administration; quality assurance; curriculum development; and finance. It is essential that we have the correct named person for each of these roles so we can channel communication to the right person and offer the right support at the right time. This can be completed by the Centre within Contact Manager on Quartzweb.
