Help us to help others this Christmas!

Open College Network West Midlands, are looking for support from local companies to help give local young carers and their families a better Christmas this year, please read on to find out more on how you can help us make a difference this Christmas.
We are looking to speak with local companies that are willing to donate food products, toiletries and toys to Spurgeons Children’s Charity, which will make a huge difference to the many Young Carers within Wolverhampton and the local community!
Who are we:

Open College Network West Midlands is a national Awarding Organisation, regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), to develop and award nationally recognised qualifications. We work in partnership with employers, training providers, colleges, universities, schools and voluntary and community organisations to offer vocational credit-based qualifications, Access to Higher Education Diplomas and quality assured Customised Accreditation that enables learners gain employment or to progress into further learning and Higher Education. We also Quality Endorse organisations internal training and skills delivery.

Each year we nominate a local charity to support, which is currently spurgeons.

Who are Spurgeons Wolverhampton Young Carers:
This charitable organisation supports young carers who are children and young people up to the age of 18, who help to care for someone in their family. That person can be a parent, sibling, grandparent or other relative who has a short- or long-term health condition or related issue e.g. substance abuse. Young carers perform a range of roles from washing and dressing, completing extra housework and cooking, to helping with medications and providing emotional support.

These young carers need support to cope with the daily challenges they face and with the impact it can have their development and prospects.
What will my support offer:
Our combined support will help give these young careers a well-deserved Christmas break with items that most of us take for granted! 
How do I donate:
Simple, please contact Sara Jordan or Stephanie Reeves on 01902 624 230. The final date to organise donations will be 10th December.
Items welcomed:
Toiletries, games, toys, everyday food items and Christmas food and drink (non-alcoholic please).
