Funding changes

Thursday, 13 July 2017

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has announced changes to the way they will fund qualifications under Local Flexibility Funding.

For all new qualifications from July 2017, Awarding Organisations will need to apply to the ESFA for funding for both qualifications and any units that can be delivered as standalone, even if the qualification as a whole qualifies for Local Flexibility Funding.

The Hub will be updated quarterly, not monthly, with updates published in August, December, March and June.

Funding will be backdated to the operational start date of the qualification/unit where this date falls between Hub updates.  For example, for units within a qualification with a start date of 1st August 2017, funding will be backdated to 1st August but the information will not appear on the Hub until the November update.

It is therefore really important if you wish to deliver any of our new Entry Level to Level 2 qualifications via a unit only route that you list all of the required units on your New Course Notification Form.

These changes apply to NEW qualifications and component units only.
