Dudley Mind - Our Nominated Charity of the Year!

Thursday, 22 February 2018

Each year we nominate a charity, by way of a staff vote to support.

We are delighted to announce that we have chosen Dudley Mind.

Dudley Mind are a small, independent charity affiliated to Mind and have been supporting local people with mental well being for forty years.  Offering recovery services such as peer support groups, garden project and self-management programs, they also and work with employers and delivering workshops and training.
Dudley Mind highlight how good mental health allows people to realise their potential, work productively and make a valued contribution to communities. They have also created ‘The Five Ways to Wellbeing’.
1. Connect
Make the effort to keep in touch and enjoy time with people in your life.

2. Be Active
Go for a walk, run or even dance! Being active makes you feel good.

3. Take Notice
Slow down and be aware of the world around you and how you feel.

4. Keep Learning
Try something new, rediscover an interest or set a new goal that you will enjoy achieving.

5. Give
Volunteer your time or do something nice for someone, giving makes us feel good and connected to those around us.
Since choosing Dudley Mind as our new charity we have enjoyed fundraising with our Halloween fancy dress, Valentine’s day raffle and have donated £120 so far.  We look forward to continuing our fundraising over the coming months with an Easter activity, sponsored walk and staff taking part in Wolverhampton’s Inflatable 5K Obstacle Run which are open to donations.
