COVID-19: Access to HE Provider and Student Update
Please see our web page for the latest update on the Arrangements for the award of the Access to HE Diplomas.
Access to Higher Education (HE) Diplomas are designed to enable adult learners without traditional qualifications to progress into degree courses at University.  The Access to HE Diploma is a national Level 3 qualification that is recognised by universities in England and Wales.
If you are interested in a career change, want a challenge or simply have a desire to learn, then Access to HE Diplomas have a successful track record and hundreds of thousands of students have benefited from the opportunities they provide.
A typical Access to HE Diploma programme may be studied for 1 year full-time or 2 years as a part-time student. Programmes offered during the day are generally organised to allow students to fit their study around their home, family and work commitments and can be delivered in a traditional classroom setting, wholly online, or as a blended learning course depending on the particular Diploma and Centre.

Funding for your Access Course - Advanced Learner Loans
All our Access to HE Diplomas are approved for public funding via the Advanced Learning Loan now from 19 years +.  This means that you can use the loan to cover the cost of the tuition fees of your Access course.
The good news is that if you then go on to Higher Education and complete a degree course, your loan for study on the Access to HE Diploma will be written off.  Otherwise the loan is paid back when you complete your Access course and you are earning more than £21,000 a year, at a rate of 9% of any income earned over this amount.
If you are considering applying to Bath Spa University, please take a look at their presentation encouraging applications from mature learners.  Information is provided about the different campuses, entry requirements and the professional services available to their learners.  The university promote a very positive ethos for their learners.
