We are now looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Business Development Manager to lead in the generation and development of new business (sales) for the organisation.
 
The Job:
 
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development you will be responsible for developing and implementing lead generation plans to generate new business to business enquiries across a range of target markets including FE Colleges, private training providers, employers, schools and Voluntary/Community organisations.
 
Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Officer you will have an active role in the promotion of our qualification and wider product to the range of training providers that use our provision and accreditation services. You will also be responsible for completing research to identify potential new customers and for conducting sales calls and telemarketing activity to identified prospects.
 
We are looking for a professional with high levels of initiative, drive and proactivity with previous experience of achieving challenging targets in a business development / educational selling role.
 
The role also has a small amount of customer account management responsibility that will require the postholder to be able to provide ongoing support and advice to our customers about our products and services.
 
The post is full time and you will be based in our large modern office in Wolverhampton although you will be required to travel.

Open College Network West Midlands is a charitable organisation based in Wolverhampton. We provide a range of products and services to providers that offer a route for their learners into high quality learning and skills development that help to increase learners’ employability and confidence that fit with today’s industry needs.

We work in partnership with universities, colleges, employers, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders to develop Apprenticeships, Traineeships and regulated qualifications from a wide range of areas including employability and work preparation, building and construction, engineering, health and social care, environment and working in the outdoors, ICT and business, language and communications, lifelong learning, service industries,  science and technology, the arts and offender learning. In addition, we also work with customers to develop customised accreditation and offer a quality endorsement licence to organisations delivering their own internal training provision.

We are currently seeking to fill a number of board positions which includes:
  • Independent Board Members
  • Members of the Access and Compliance Committee
  • Members of the Finance and Resource Committees
All of our Board members are expected to assist in; setting strategy, policy and objectives; holding the senior executive team to account; implementing and communicating decisions and overseeing the financial controls and risk management of the organisation.  We will provide the necessary support, training and development where required for you to carry out your role.

This is a voluntary role, however any reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred as a result of you carrying out your role as a board member will be reimbursed.
