Lead Product Developer
 
Salary - £33,500 - £37,500
 
Open College Network West Midlands has been supporting learners and awarding qualifications for over 35 years.  Regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and as a leading Access Validating Agency regulated by QAA, we are currently in an exciting period of growth with new opportunities to expand both nationally and internationally with our current and emerging product portfolio. 
 
We are looking for a dedicated Lead Product Developer to support the Director of Access and Compliance to lead the development, review and management of the Open College Network West Midlands product catalogue.           
 
The post holder will ensure Open College Network West Midlands has a competitive, valid range of products which align with current strategic thinking and ensure continued growth and improvement of the organisation.  
 
The post is full time and you will be based in our large modern office in Wolverhampton although you will not be required to travel.

Curriculum Area Moderators
 
Due to the continuing expansion of our Access to Higher Education provision, we are seeking self-employed individuals to join our pool of Curriculum Area Moderators for Access to Higher Education. The role involves the External Quality Assurance of the Open College Network West Midlands Access to Higher Education Diplomas, which are regulated by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).  Curriculum Area Moderators (CAMs) are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of assessment judgements and confirming the award of credit and grades within designated curriculum areas. The role will mainly involve quality monitoring remotely although at times visits to Centres may be required therefore a driving licence and means of independent travel is essential.  You will be required to attend a day’s mandatory training before commencing your duties.  This is currently scheduled to take place on 19th  September 2019.
 
Applicants must:
  • Be qualified to Level 4 in the subject area that they wish to Moderate.
  • Have experience of the Access to Higher Education Diploma or Higher Education.
     
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, email and internet usage.
     
  • Have access to a reliable internet connection.

 

Ideally, applicants will also hold or be working towards:

  • A qualification in External Quality Assurance.
 
We prefer to use Moderators who are currently involved in the delivery of Access to Higher Education Diplomas, as your expertise and experience with the Grading Scheme in particular would be of valued support to Centres.  Therefore, we would like to encourage you and your colleagues to apply to become a Curriculum Area Moderator in one or more of the following areas:

External Quality Assurers

Contract - Daily rate plus travel expenses
 
Description
 
We are seeking self-employed individuals to join our pool of External Quality Assurers for our diverse range of RQF qualifications. The role involves the External Quality Assurance of Open College Network West Midlands qualifications, which are regulated by the Ofqual and Qualifications Wales.  The role will involve quality monitoring visits to Centres as and when required. A driving licence and means of independent travel is therefore essential. 
 
We are particularly interested to recruit experts in the following subject areas:
  • Building and Construction
  • Animal care including: Zookeeping, Hydrotherapy, 
  • Physiotherapy
  • Functional Skills
  • Telecommunications
  • Canine Training
  • Oral Hygiene/Dental
  • Medical Technologies
  • Security.
Applicants must:
  • Be qualified and occupationally competent in the subject area that they wish to quality assure.
  • Have experience of training and assessing regulated qualifications.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, email and internet usage.
  • Have access to a reliable internet connection.
 
Ideally, applicants will also hold, be working or willing to work towards:
  • A Level 4 qualification in External Quality Assurance.
